To make a \u201ctikified\u201d Planter\u2019s Punch.<\/p>\n<p>I love tiki drinks \u2013 and Pimm\u2019s \u2026and raspberries! So after shaking up a few dozen concoctions, I finalized my entry with a <strong>Planters Punch \u201c<\/strong><strong>Berry<\/strong><strong> Cup\u201d<\/strong> \u2026 my &#8220;Big Easy\u201d twist on Planters Punch.<\/p>\n<p>Author, expert and cocktail judge Jeff Berry said: \u201cSampling from over 150 of these creative, complex, forward-thinking, often delicious, was pure pleasure, but choosing only 10 was no easy task \u2014 there were just too many good ones.\u00a0Often it came down to the originality of the garnish, or the use of an unexpected ingredient that harmonized particularly well.\u00a0 But I can confidently say that if I saw these 10 finalists on the cocktail menu of a tiki bar, I would never leave.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The other finalist\u2019s recipes are online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talesofthecocktail.com\/documents\/CocktailCompetitionTop10Finalists.pdf\">Tales of the Cocktail <\/a>&#8211; and the winner will be announced on March 31, 2010. Best of luck to us all!!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2773\/4455340900_96344efc6b_m.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1650\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Planter\u2019s Punch \u201c<\/strong><strong>Berry<\/strong><strong> Cup\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Makes 1 cocktail<\/p>\n<p>5 Driscol fresh raspberries<br \/>\n1 oz 10 Cane Rum<br \/>\n3\/4 oz Sailor Jerry Rum<br \/>\n1\/2 oz Orgeat Syrup<br \/>\n1\/2 oz Pimm\u2019s<br \/>\n1 dash Peychoud\u2019s Bitters<\/p>\n<p>Garnish: long thin cucumber curl, raspberry on a pick<\/p>\n<p>Drop raspberries into pint glass. Measure in ingredients. Fill with ice. Cap and shake vigorously. Line a collins glass with a long very thin slice of cucumber (cut from the mandolin as shown).
